Reviews are based on personal experiences, and different people may experience the same situation in different ways. Because of this, not all disagreements mean that a review is incorrect or breaks our rules.
Subjective opinions and experiences
A subjective opinion reflects how the reviewer experienced the rental. These types of statements are allowed, even if the other party disagrees.
Examples of subjective opinions:
“Communication felt poor”
“The item was not in the condition I expected”
“The cancellation was frustrating”
“I would not rent from this person again”
These statements describe a personal experience or feeling and cannot be proven right or wrong.
Incorrect or misleading information
Incorrect information refers to factual claims that can be objectively verified and shown to be wrong using documented information.
Examples of potentially incorrect information:
Claiming the rental never took place, when in reality it did
Stating the wrong rental dates or item
Saying no communication happened when messages clearly exist
Including private information such as full names or contact details
If such claims can be proven incorrect with documentation, we may edit or remove the review.
Why this distinction matters
To ensure fairness and consistency, we only moderate reviews when there is a clear and verifiable breach of our rules. If we removed reviews based on disagreements or differing perspectives, the review system would no longer reflect real user experiences.
If you disagree with a review but it reflects the other party’s experience, we recommend using the public reply function to share your perspective and provide context for future users.
