Hygglo Care is designed to make sharing safe, simple, and sustainable.

As a lender, you are automatically protected by Hygglo Care every time you rent out an item through the platform. It helps safeguard your belongings and gives you peace of mind while earning money from what you own.

Hygglo Care combines verification, security, and protection, supporting you with preventive safety measures and help if something unexpected happens.


Verified borrowers and secure rentals

Safety and reliability are important to us. That is why everyone who rents on Hygglo completes an identity verification process.

Depending on the country, verification may include confirming the borrower’s legal name, address, phone number, and identity document, such as BankID in the Nordics.

We also carry out safety checks before a rental is confirmed. These checks help detect unusual or high-risk activity and ensure that every rental is as safe as possible for both lenders and borrowers.

Only verified borrowers can rent items through Hygglo.


Protection for lenders

We understand that your items matter to you. Hygglo Care helps protect your belongings during verified rentals and supports you if something goes wrong.

Through Hygglo Care, every rental includes protection against sudden and unforeseen damage, theft or loss during the rental period. The protection is provided through our insurance partner Omocom or the Hygglo Lender Guarantee, depending on the market and category.

With Hygglo Care, you benefit from:

  • Protection for verified rentals within the applicable limits and terms

  • Verified borrowers and secure payment handling

  • Guidance on valuing and listing your items correctly

Hygglo Care includes access to the relevant protection in your country, but it is important that you familiarise yourself with the insurance and guarantee terms that apply to your items to ensure maximum coverage.


Cancellations and fairness

When a borrower books your item, it becomes unavailable to others for that period. To ensure you are treated fairly, Hygglo’s cancellation policy protects you against last-minute cancellations.

If a borrower cancels close to the rental start date, you will still receive part or all of the rental fee (minus applicable commission) according to the policy you have chosen. This helps make sure you are compensated for keeping your item available and ready for the rental.

You can choose between Flexible, Medium, and Strict cancellation policies. A more flexible policy can help attract more borrowers, while stricter options provide stronger protection if plans change late.

Submitting a claim

If something happens to your item during a rental, contact our support team as soon as possible.

Our team will guide you through the process and help you reach the correct claim handler, depending on the type of rental and where it took place.

You may be asked to provide:

  • Photos or videos of the damage

  • A short description of what happened

  • Proof of value, such as a receipt, quote or link

  • A police report if theft is suspected

Each case is reviewed carefully, and we aim to ensure a fair and transparent process for both parties.
