Hygglo connects lenders and borrowers in a secure and straightforward way. While the platform manages payments, booking terms, and protection in accordance with our insurance and guarantee policies, the rental agreement is made directly between the lender and the borrower. Hygglo acts only as an intermediary.
By creating an account, you agree to our Terms of Use and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations when using the platform.
Your responsibilities as a lender
You are responsible for ensuring that your rental items:
Accurately match your listing. Include correct descriptions, photos, specifications, accessories, and details of the item’s condition and intended use.
Are placed in the correct category. The item must be listed in the most suitable category. If an item is placed in the wrong category, insurance or guarantee coverage may be affected.
Are in working and safe condition. Items must be fit for purpose, fully functional, and safe for borrowers to use.
Receive proper maintenance. Check and maintain your items regularly. Make sure they are clean and in good working order before each rental.
Comply with legal requirements. Follow all relevant laws, including safety regulations, tax rules, consumer protection, and any category-specific rules.
Have clear rental terms. Communicate any extra fees (for example for consumables), usage limitations, and return expectations before the booking is confirmed.
Are properly insured when needed. Most items are covered by Hygglo’s insurance or guarantee. If your item falls outside of the included coverage, or exceeds the coverage limit, you must ensure it is appropriately insured.
Communication and coordination
To support a smooth and safe rental, lenders must:
Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with borrowers.
Coordinate pickup and return details (time, location, and any specific instructions) before the rental begins.
Respond within a reasonable time to keep the rental running smoothly.
Treat Hygglo’s support staff with courtesy and respect.
Preparing your item for rental
To help prevent misunderstandings and support any potential claim, we recommend that you:
Take clear photos or videos showing the item’s condition before and after the rental.
Provide all necessary accessories and parts listed in your description.
Package or protect the item appropriately for transport or handover.
These steps help verify the item’s condition and make the rental safer for both parties.
Insurance, guarantee, and platform terms
As a lender, you are responsible for familiarising yourself with the insurance or guarantee terms that apply to your item categories. Coverage may differ depending on the type of item, the category it is listed in, and the country where the rental takes place.
You are also responsible for following Hygglo’s Terms of Use and ensuring you comply with all rules for safe, lawful, and appropriate use of the platform.
Failure to follow the applicable guarantee, insurance, or platform terms may affect your coverage or compensation.
Vehicles
If you rent out a vehicle, you must ensure that it:
Has valid traffic insurance according to local law.
Is legally registered and road-legal in your country.
Has all required taxes paid and is not subject to a driving ban.
Has a valid inspection certificate (MOT/besiktning or equivalent).
Is properly maintained, safe to drive, and meets all manufacturer and legal requirements for maintenance, load and usage.
Is only rented to verified borrowers who meet all driver requirements, including the correct driving licence, minimum age, and required driving experience.
Has clear fuel, mileage, and usage terms agreed before the rental.
Is not used by you (the owner) during the rental period.
Complies with all requirements in Hygglo’s Vehicle Guarantee.
Note: Motorised vehicles may only be listed and rented out on Hygglo in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
The Vehicle Guarantee applies in the Nordic region (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland), but motorised vehicles cannot be listed or rented in other markets. Any motorised vehicle rental created outside Sweden, Norway or Finland will not be covered by the guarantee.
Trailers (non-motorised) can however be rented out in Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
Liability
You are responsible for:
Ensuring your item is as described, safe, and suitable for rental use.
Complying with your legal obligations towards borrowers, including any consumer rights that may apply.
Addressing any issues or damage that occur due to your failure to meet these responsibilities.
If you do not meet these obligations, you may be held liable for resulting loss or harm.
Hygglo may reduce or deny compensation if you do not follow the applicable guarantee or insurance terms.
