Cancelling before payment
You can cancel a booking request at any time before making a payment. Once payment and verification are completed, the request becomes a confirmed booking, and the cancellation policy applies.
We recommend checking the item’s cancellation policy (flexible, medium, or strict) before booking. You can find this information in the listing.
Cancelling after payment
Go to your booking in your account.
Click the cancel button.
A confirmation window will appear showing your refund amount.
Refunds are processed automatically through our payment provider, Stripe. It can take up to 10 days for the money to appear in your account, depending on your bank.
In some cases, the refund is processed as a reversal. This means the payment was never fully completed, only reserved, and the funds were released rather than withdrawn. If this happens, you won’t see a charge or a refund on your bank statement; the original reservation will simply disappear.
After the rental period has started
If an issue arises after the rental period has begun and both you and the lender agree that a refund is fair, do not cancel the booking yourself.
The lender must initiate the cancellation to ensure you receive a refund.

If you are a lender
When a borrower cancels
If a borrower cancels, the chosen cancellation policy applies. This means they may not receive a full refund depending on how close the cancellation is to the rental start date.
If the borrower receives a 50% refund, the remaining 50% will be paid out to you as the lender, minus our commission.
If the borrower is not entitled to any refund under the policy, you will receive your payout in full as if the booking had gone ahead.
When you need to cancel
If you need to cancel a booking, the borrower should always receive a full refund, including any booking fees.
Because of this, you must be the one to initiate the cancellation.
To cancel and refund a booking:
Go to the booking in your account.
Select refund the rental.
Confirm that you want to cancel and refund the borrower.
Once a booking is cancelled and refunded, it cannot be undone, so make sure you are certain before proceeding.
Refunds after completion
You cannot refund a completed booking yourself. If the rental has already ended and a refund is needed, contact support as soon as possible, and we will assist you.
Partial refunds
If you want to refund only part of the amount before marking the item as returned, open the booking and select the edit icon next to the price.
You can choose how much to refund, and the commission will be adjusted automatically.
Refund processing
Refunds are handled by our payment provider, Stripe, and usually take between 5 and 10 days to reach the borrower's bank account, depending on the bank.
