Hygglo is a peer-to-peer rental platform that connects people who need things with people who have them. Renting and lending are simple, safe, and flexible.

Renting on Hygglo (as a borrower)

  1. Find an item
Browse or search to find what you need. Check the item calendar to see if it is available for your preferred dates.

  2. Send a request and create an account
Submit a rental request. If you do not yet have an account, you will be asked to create one. Sending a request is not binding at this stage.

  3. Request approval
The lender reviews your request and decides whether to approve it.

  4. Booking and payment
Once approved, you will receive a notification and can pay securely by card through Hygglo. A booking fee applies.

  5. Get verified
Hygglo verifies your details for security. When verification is approved, your booking is confirmed and the cancellation policy applies.

  6. Arrange handover
Agree on the exact pick-up and return times directly with the lender.

  7. Enjoy your rental
Collect the item at the agreed time and use it during the booked period.

  8. Return the item
Bring the item back at the agreed time and place.

  9. Leave a review
Share your experience to help others on the platform.

Lending on Hygglo (as a lender)

  1. Create an account and listings
Register an account and create one or several listings for the items you want to rent out.

  2. Receive requests
When you receive a rental request, review it and approve or decline depending on your availability.

  3. Borrower payment
After approval, the borrower pays through Hygglo. The booking is not confirmed yet.

  4. Borrower verification
Hygglo verifies the borrower’s identity for security. Once verification is approved, the booking is confirmed and the cancellation policy applies.

  5. Arrange handover
Agree on the exact pick-up and return times with the borrower.

  6. Hand over the item
Meet at the agreed place and time, hand over the item and mark it as “picked up” in Hygglo.

  7. Item returned
When the borrower returns the item, mark it as “returned” in Hygglo. This ends the rental.

  8. Get paid
Your payout is sent automatically after the rental is marked as returned. Hygglo takes a commission on completed rentals.

  9. Leave a review
Leave a review to share your experience.

Good to know

Always communicate through Hygglo and keep payments on the platform. This keeps you covered by our policies and ensures secure transactions. Repeated violations of these policies could lead to account suspension or other restrictions.

Service fee

Hygglo takes a 20 percent commission from the lender’s earnings on completed rentals. The borrower pays a booking fee when paying for the rental. The amount of this fee can vary depending on the category of the item.

All fees are shown clearly before confirming a booking. These fees help cover platform costs such as insurance, payment processing, and customer support.

Frequently asked questions

Can my account get blocked or suspended?

Yes. Accounts may be suspended for repeated complaints, sharing accounts, violating rental policies, or facilitating off-platform transactions.

How can I resolve a blocked account?

To reactivate your account, review the reason for suspension, address the issue, and commit to complying with Hygglo rules. Cooperation with Hygglo support is required for resolution.

Is sending a rental request binding?

No. A request is only binding once the lender has approved it, you have paid, and your verification has been approved, so the booking is confirmed.

How do I pay for a rental?

All payments are made securely by credit or debit card through Hygglo. The payment option will be available on the rental request once the lender has approved the request.

When do lenders get paid?

Payouts are made automatically after the rental has been marked as returned in Hygglo.

Can I meet the borrower or lender anywhere?

Yes. Borrowers and lenders agree directly on the exact place and time for handover and return.

Do I need verification to rent?

Yes. All users must have an account, and verification is required before renting. The type of verification depends on factors such as the item’s value, category, and your rental history. In many cases, the process is instant and automated. In others, a more thorough verification may be needed, which can require additional information or documents.

What happens if I need to cancel?

The cancellation policy applies once the booking is confirmed after verification and approval. The terms depend on when the cancellation is made and what cancellation policy is valid for the rented item.

Is communication outside Hygglo allowed?

Before a booking is confirmed, it is not allowed to share personal contact details. All communication must go through Hygglo until the booking is confirmed. After a rental is booked, you may communicate outside the platform if needed, for example, to arrange handover. However, charging or accepting payment for rent outside of Hygglo is never allowed and is a clear breach of our terms. Violations such as facilitating transactions outside the Hygglo platform repeatedly may result in account suspension or permanent removal.
