Renting through Hygglo is simple and secure. Follow these steps to get started.
1. Search for the item you want to rent
Go to hygglo.com or open the app. Enter what you need in the search bar.
Tips:
Add your location to see items available nearby.
Listings are sorted by distance, with the closest shown first.
The further you scroll, the further away the items are.
2. Choose an item and check the details
Click on a listing to view full details, including:
Item description and photos
Price and cancellation terms
Lender information
Calendar with available dates
How to select a rental period
Mark the first and last day of your rental period.
The full period will be selected automatically, and the total cost including the booking fee will be shown.
Hygglo charges per day, not by the hour. If you pick up an item on Saturday and return it on Sunday, you will be charged for two days.
3. Send a rental request
When you have chosen your dates, click Send a request.
If you are new to Hygglo, you will be asked to sign up or log in.
If you are already logged in, you will see a confirmation that your request has been sent.
Tip: Send a short message to the lender when you send your request. Friendly, clear communication often helps you get a quicker response.
You can also message a lender before sending a request. Click Send message on the listing (you need an account to message).
4. Wait for a response from the lender
The lender can:
Accept – You can then proceed to payment.
Decline – The request will be closed.
Message you – To discuss details.
You will receive updates via the app or SMS.
You can send multiple rental requests. You are not committed until payment and verification are complete.
5. Make payment and complete verification to confirm the rental
A rental is only confirmed once both payment and verification are completed.
This is also when the cancellation terms start to apply.
Currently, payments can be made using:
Visa
Mastercard
American Express
Apple Pay
Once your payment and verification are successful, you will receive:
A booking confirmation and receipt by email
The lender’s contact details
The pickup address
6. Pick up the item
Confirm the pickup time and place with the lender. Pickups usually happen at the lender’s home or other specified location in the booking, but you can agree on another location.
At pickup:
Inspect the item together.
Confirm the return time if not already agreed.
If something happens during the rental
Contact the lender right away. Hygglo’s protection (insurance or guarantee, depending on country and item) helps cover accidental damage to rented items.
7. Return the item
Return the item at the agreed time and place.
If you are delayed, inform the lender as soon as possible.
The rental period ends when the lender confirms that the item has been returned.
Need to extend your rental?
Send a new request to the lender to check if the item is available.
8. Leave a review
Once your rental is complete, leave a review of your experience.
Reviews help build trust and make the platform safer for everyone.
Regional information
Verification and protection processes vary slightly between countries:
Nordic countries: Identity is usually confirmed through BankID, and for most items, protection is provided by Omocom insurance.
UK, US and Canada: Verification is completed through document checks, and protection is provided by a Hygglo guarantee under Hygglo Care.
