When you rent an item through Hygglo, insurance is included. Here's a detailed breakdown of how it works:
Insurance coverage
Accident insurance:
Covers damages up to 30,000 SEK with no deductible.
If the item is worth more than 30,000 SEK, the owner must maintain their own insurance.
Hygglo’s insurance will cover the owner's deductible up to 10,000 SEK for these high-value items.
Motor vehicles (including trailers):
Covered for damages up to 300,000 SEK.
Deductible: 5,000 SEK (paid by you, the renter).
Drones and drone accessories:
Covered for damages up to 20,000 SEK.
Deductible: 5,000 SEK (paid by you, the renter).
Key obligation: avoid carelessness
While insurance ensures the rented item is covered, you are expected to handle the item with care. If damage occurs due to negligence, you may be held liable for the damages.
Insurance for vehicles: special considerations
When renting vehicles such as vans, motorcycles, or trailers, the following applies:
Owner’s responsibility:
The owner must have at least third-party liability insurance.
This covers damages to third parties as our insurance only covers damages to the renter item.
If damage occurs:
Third-party damage:
If you cause damage to a third party, you will reimburse the owner for the deductible they pay on their insurance.
Damage to the rented vehicle:
Hygglo’s insurance covers damages to the vehicle up to 300,000 SEK or the owner’s deductible (up to 10,000 SEK) if the owner’s insurance covers the damage.
What to do If damage occurs
Contact the owner:
If an accident happens during the rental period, inform the owner as soon as possible with details of the incident.
Owner’s role:
The owner will contact Hygglo to file an insurance claim.
Deductible payment:
For drones: Hygglo will contact you to arrange payment of the deductible.
For vehicles: Omocom (Hygglo's insurance partner) will contact you to arrange payment of the deductible.
Reimbursement to the owner for deductible on third-party liability insurance can be handled directly between you and the owner.
In short, all items rented through Hygglo are insured, but it’s important to handle them responsibly to avoid liability for damages.
