Hygglo’s guarantee for vehicles

When you rent out your vehicle via Hygglo in Sweden, Norway or Finland, it is covered by our vehicle guarantee. This guarantee is designed to provide peace of mind for both the lender and the borrower should anything unexpected occur during the rental period.

Which vehicles are covered?

The following types of vehicles are included in the guarantee:

  • Vans and light trucks

  • Trailers and boat trailers

  • Caravans and motorhomes

  • Mopeds

  • Snowmobiles and quad bikes (including light tractors)

❗ Note: It is not permitted to rent out passenger cars, mini buses or motorcycles via Hygglo, and such vehicles will not be covered by any insurance or guarantee.


What does the guarantee include?

Coverage limits

  • Sweden, Norway: up to 300 000 SEK / NOK

  • Finland: up to 30 000 EUR

Note: For unregistered trailers the guarantee covers up to 30 000 SEK / NOK (3 000 EUR)

Excess (paid by the borrower)

  • Sweden, Norway: up to 1 500 SEK / NOK

  • Finland: up to 150 EUR

No excess applies for roadside assistance

Included protection

  • Damage compensation – covers damage, theft or loss up to the maximum amount

  • Roadside assistance – available 24/7 throughout the rental, with no excess

  • Travel reimbursement – covers return travel if a breakdown occurs

  • Collection compensation – if the vehicle needs to be collected from another location

Key conditions

To ensure the guarantee remains valid, the following conditions must be met:

  • The vehicle must not have exceeded 300,000 km

  • Only the registered borrower may operate the vehicle

  • The lender is responsible for verifying the borrower holds a valid driving licence

  • The rental must be made via Hygglo

  • Motor vehicles must have valid third-party liability insurance

  • The vehicle must be in good condition and legal to use

  • Covers passenger cars (including motorhome), light truck, moped, trailer (including caravan) with a maximum gross weight of 3,500 kg

  • Covers snowmobile/ATV and tractors up to 450 kg


What is not covered?

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Scratches or normal wear and tear that does not affect functionality

  • Motor vehicles without valid third-party liability insurance or under driving bans

  • Mechanical faults caused by poor maintenance

  • Pre-existing damage

  • Known risks: Damage caused by circumstances known at the time the insurance was initiated.

  • The following items may not be rented out under any circumstances:

    • Aircraft

    • Weapons and weapon components

    • Jewellery, watches, live animals

    • Tobacco, alcohol

    • Cash and financial instruments


Limitations

  • The guarantee applies only during the booked rental period

  • It only covers items and accessories rented out via Hygglo

  • Valid for up to 90 days per rental

  • Only valid within the Nordic countries


Roadside assistance

  • Provided through our partner Redgo.

  • Covers events such as punctures, jump-starts or engine failure.

  • No excess for roadside assistance.


What applies in Denmark, UK, US and Canada?

In Denmark, UK, US and Canada, only trailers are covered. The Trailer coverage for UK, US and Canada is provided through our Lender Guarantee.

Coverage limits

  • Denmark: up to 200 000 DKK

  • UK, US, Canada: up to 30 000 GBP / USD / CAD

Excess (paid by the borrower)

  • Denmark: up to 1 500 DKK

  • UK, US, Canada: up to 150 GBP / USD / CAD

Other vehicles, such as vans, light commercial vehicles, motorhomes, caravans, snowmobiles, mopeds, quad bikes, and motorised machinery, may not be rented out in these markets and are not covered by any insurance or guarantee.

Roadside assistance is included where applicable and carries no excess.
