How to extend or change the rental period

Plans can change, and sometimes the rental period needs to be adjusted. Here is how it works for both paid and free extensions.

Extending a rental

It is not possible to extend an ongoing rental directly in the system.

If the rental needs to continue for additional days, the borrower must:

  1. Submit a new rental request for the extra period.

  2. Wait for the lender to approve the request.

  3. Pay for the new booking.

Free extensions

If the lender agrees to an extra rental day at no additional cost:

  • There is no need to submit a new booking request.

  • The agreement must always be confirmed in writing in the booking chat.

  • Contact our support team to update the end date in the system.

This will not affect the rental price, but it ensures that the rental period is accurate in case of any issues. Insurance and guarantees only apply during the booked period, so it is better to be safe than sorry.

The lender should mark the item as returned once it is actually returned.


Changing rental dates

If the rental needs to be moved to different dates than the originally booked dates, there are two options:

  1. Cancel the existing booking and make a new one with the correct dates.

  2. Contact support for help updating the dates on the current booking.

If the new period is longer than the original booking, an additional booking may be needed to cover the extra days.


Respecting the lender’s decision

If the lender cannot agree to an extension or date change, their decision must be respected.

If the rental needs to be cancelled instead, the cancellation policy will apply.
