How to extend or change the rental period

Plans can change, and sometimes the rental period needs to be adjusted. Here is how rental extensions and date changes work.

Extending a rental

Borrowers and lenders can request a rental extension directly from the active rental screen.

From the rental period section, tap Extend rental and choose a new end date. On the last day of the rental, the same option also appears in the main order actions area.

If the borrower requests an extension

  1. The borrower taps Extend rental from the active rental screen.

  2. The borrower chooses a new end date and sends the request.

  3. The lender accepts or declines the request, just like a normal booking request.

If the lender starts the extension

The lender can also initiate and confirm an extension directly from the order screen. When doing this, the lender has the option to adjust the price for the extra rental period.

Important: An extension creates a separate new booking with its own order number, chat, and handover. It does not modify the original booking.


Changing rental dates

If the rental needs to be moved to different dates than the originally booked dates, the lender can update the rental dates directly from the booking screen when both parties have agreed to the change.

Pick a new start date and the booking will shift to the new dates while keeping the same rental length. The calendar automatically blocks dates that cannot be used, such as dates with other bookings or blocked days.

Changing dates this way does not change the rental length or rental price. If the rental should continue for longer than the original booking, use Extend rental from the active rental screen.


Respecting the lender’s decision

If the lender cannot agree to an extension or date change, their decision must be respected.

If the rental needs to be cancelled instead, the cancellation policy will apply.
