Before You Set Off
Raise the jockey wheel fully – make sure it is not down when driving.
Release the brake if the trailer is braked, so it is free to move.
Ensure the tow hitch is securely locked onto the tow ball.
Check the electrics – plug in the cable and test indicators and brake lights.
Adjust the breakaway cable – it should not be too long or dragging on the ground.
While Driving
Take wider turns – the trailer makes your vehicle longer.
Be mindful of weight limits – overloading the trailer can be dangerous.
When Parking or Leaving the Trailer
Secure it with a lock – attach it to something fixed to prevent theft.
