Dos and Don'ts of Being a Lender on Hygglo
Dos and Don'ts of Being a Lender on Hygglo
Updated over 3 weeks ago

Hygglo is a community-based platform where individuals share items with one another, rather than large businesses renting or selling to customers. To maintain a fair and respectful environment, both lenders and borrowers are expected to follow certain standards of behavior.

1. Ensure Your Listings Are Accurate

  • Be truthful and precise in your listings, including item details and handover locations.

  • Avoid spamming: Do not post multiple identical listings to manipulate visibility.

  • Provide correct handover locations: Only list locations where you can consistently meet.

  • List items separately: Do not include all your available items in one listing. Borrowers can view all your listings by clicking on your profile.

  • Do not create multi-item listings: Each ad should be for a single item unless offering a bundle at a set price.

Violating these guidelines may result in the removal of misleading listings and disciplinary action against your account.

2. Maintain Your Items

  • Ensure your items are in good condition and fully functional before renting them out.

  • Conduct regular checks before and after each rental to ensure items are in proper working order.

  • Routine maintenance is essential to remain covered by Hygglo’s insurance policy.

3. Complete All Rentals via the Hygglo Platform

  • All bookings and payments must be made through Hygglo.

  • Do not accept cash payments: Off-platform transactions violate Hygglo’s terms, may result in fines or account suspension, and void your insurance coverage.

  • Avoid last-minute cancellations: If a cancellation is unavoidable, inform the borrower as soon as possible and explain the reason clearly.

4. Communicate Respectfully

  • Be professional and courteous in all interactions with borrowers and Hygglo staff.

  • Discrimination, name-calling, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and may result in account suspension.
