Both those who rent out and those who rent can leave a review after the rental period is over. It helps others who rent/rent out to get an idea of what to expect in a rental with this individual. It also provides initiatives to provide better service and to treat rented items with greater care.
Now it is also possible to leave a review if a booking has been paid for and later canceled.
As of today, reviews are set on a scale from 1 (angry smiley) to 5 (happy smiley). The vast majority who leave reviews actually leave a 5 which corresponds to that they are really happy with the rental and that it went well without any problems.
It is in our backlog to redo the entire rating system so it becomes much more granular and can better give the full picture of the whole experience a person have had during rental.
